    Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary: A Haven for Wildlife Enthusiasts

     

    Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary in Agartala is a flourishing wildlife paradise spanning 25 km from Bishalgarh's city centre. It is a biodiversity-rich refuge that includes an artificial lake, a natural botanical garden and a magical garden. The sanctuary is famous for its Clouded Leopard enclosure, but it also has a variety of birds, mammals and other wildlife, including four species of Fyre langur and the crab-eating mongoose, which was thought to be extinct. Established in 1972, it has five departments: Wildlife, Zoology, Uncover, Reptiles and Birds, making it a popular destination for wildlife aficionados and researchers.

    Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary: A Gem in Agartala's Crown

     

    Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the heart of Agartala, is a breathtaking natural mosaic stretched out over verdant landscapes. This refuge, located just an hour and 16 minutes from our cosy cottage, is a haven for both animal aficionados and environment lovers. It has a diverse range of ecosystems, including permanent water rivulets, bodies of water, meadows, and parts of virgin forest with unusual plants. The sanctuary is home to the majestic Indian Gaur (Bison), a significant attraction, as well as a rich array of birds, deer, hollock gibbons, golden langurs, capped langurs, pheasants and a variety of other mammals and reptiles. Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary, open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Tuesdays, provides a vibrant tapestry of life, enabling visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquillity.
